Drop...Dead: The DJ Murders

Circuit boyz, GAMs, rice queens, and club kidz will love Drop … Dead: The DJ Murders, by Tonne Serah. Joey De Vera is a Filipino-American accountant nearing his 30 th birthday by day, and a fabulous denizen of Klub Galaxy after dark. A Saturday night will find him “beneath the spinning lantern, dead center on the dance floor of San Francisco’s biggest queer klub.”

When not one but two djs drop dead at his feet, Joey feels obliged to do a little investigating. And along the way, he discovers his true Pinoy self, the ability to speak Tagalog, and the white boy of his dreams.

It’s a drug-induced journey of personal growth for Joey and an exploration of why djs spin “tired tribal techno-drum-n-bass shit” wrapped around a mystery, one that looks at both sides of the glamour of the klub scene. An interesting, lively debut from a new voice in gay fiction.
